VETERANS GRANT FOR DANDENONG PROJECT TO COMMEMORATE THE SERVICE OF VICTORIA’S VETERANS

State Member for Dandenong, Gabrielle Williams, today announced that the South East Group of Melbourne Legacy will receive funding through the Victoria Remembers Minor Grants Program.

The local group based in Dandenong North will receive over $1,000 for a project to hire transport to enable secondary school students to attend a service at the Shrine as part of ANZAC Day commemorations.

Victoria Remembers Minor grants provide funding for projects which honour or commemorate the service and sacrifice of veterans and educate the community about the contribution made by our veterans in their service to the nation and the state. The program also provides funding to organisations to assist with the educational needs of veterans’ dependants.

The Victoria Remembers Minor Grants Program is available to community organisations, local councils and educational institutions.

There will be two funding rounds of the Victoria Remembers Minor Grant Program this year and organisations wishing to apply for funding for ANZAC Day 2019 commemorative services are encouraged to apply in July 2018.
