MORE SUPPORT FOR ROUGH SLEEPERS IN DANDENONG

The Andrews Labor Government is working closely with the City of Dandenong and service providers Launch Housing and NEAMI National to deliver the program. The program will support teams of outreach workers to proactively link homeless people with service supportive housing teams to help people sleeping rough establish and maintain a home. The funding will also help establish seven new modular homes, which will provide stable housing to rough sleepers to enable them to rebuild their ties with the local community.

This work is part of a $17 million rough sleepers’ package by the Andrews Labor Government that will use a variety of approaches – including assertive outreach teams, supportive housing teams and the construction of new modular homes – to deliver improved support for vulnerable Victorians across the state.

The rough sleepers’ package is part of the Labor Government’s Homelessness and Rough Sleeping Action Plan.
