INTERSECTION IMPROVEMENTS FOR DANDENONG DRIVERS

Motorists and bus passengers in Dandenong will now enjoy a quicker journey with the completion of upgrades at the Stud Road and Clow Street intersection thanks to the Andrews Labor Government.

Member for Dandenong Gabrielle Williams announced that the new right turn lane from Stud Road onto Clow Street is now complete part of a $1.3 million project helping to reduce the time it takes for buses and motorists to move through the intersection.

The intersection previously caused delays to seven bus routes during peak periods. Passengers will now enjoy a smoother and more reliable ride thanks to the extra lane allowing buses to turn right from Stud Road onto Clow Street more quickly.

Local bus services travelling through include the popular Route 901 SmartBus and Routes 697, 843, 845, 849, 861 and 862.

Locals will also be able to cross the intersection more easily and safely with new pedestrian crossings and upgrades to the traffic islands and ramps improving accessibility for those with mobility requirements or prams.

The intersection has been resurfaced and new street lighting installed benefiting more than 34,000 motorists who travel through the intersection using either Stud Road or Clow Street every day.

The key intersection connects local residents to community and transport hubs including the popular Dandenong Market and Plaza shopping centre and Dandenong Station.
