DANDENONG BUSINESS AWARDED ENERGY EFFICIENCY ASSESSMENT GRANTS

A business in Dandenong South will soon benefit from improved productivity and reduced operating costs thanks to a Sustainability Victoria Boosting Business Productivity grant, from the Andrews Labor Government.

Member for Dandenong, Gabrielle Williams, today announced that BBS Flooring Products Pty Ltd in Dandenong South had been awarded a $6,000 grant to complete a detailed energy assessment of their business.

BBS Flooring Products Pty Ltd is a manufacturer of hardware for the installation of floorcoverings and the energy savings opportunities are expected to reduce their energy spend by around a quarter. These savings will be realised from the upgrading of heater insulation, possible heat recovery, use of VSD’s and maintenance improvements. The grant also includes a $3,000 implementation bonus to help realise these savings.

The $6.1 million Boosting Business Productivity initiative offers businesses energy, gas and materials efficiency assessment grants. The initiative’s Energy Assessments program provides grants for expert assessments to identify potential energy efficiency improvements and provide expert advice.

Since the program was launched by the Minister for Energy, Environment and Climate Change, Lily D’Ambrosio, grants have been awarded to businesses across Victoria to co-fund energy efficiency assessments.

In addition to the Energy Efficiency Assessment grants, Sustainability Victoria’s Boosting Business Productivity program are supporting businesses through a variety of grants for materials efficiency assessments, investment in gas efficiency and support through training events and access to resources.
