Lyndale Secondary College is ready to serve up more sport thanks to the completion of kitchen upgrades and more at the school’s pavilion, backed by the Victorian Government.
Member for Dandenong Gabrielle Williams today joined representatives from the Greater Dandenong City Council, Lyndale United Football Club and the College to officially launch the revamped building at the school, made possible by a $80,000 investment from the Local Community Sport and Recreation Projects initiative.
Works at the school have upgraded the pavilion canteen and kitchen, created an outdoor space to connect the canteen to the sports field, and improved the pavilion’s shelf capacity allowing for more storage.
The new pavilion facilities provide a major boost to Lyndale Secondary College’s sporting programs, and to local club Lyndale United who use the building to host training and games.
The Victorian Budget 2025/26 is providing $20 million to support the development of high-quality, accessible community sports infrastructure across the state, including through the Local Sports Infrastructure Fund.
It’s part of more than $2.4 billion invested by the Victorian Government into community sport and active recreation infrastructure since 2014.
From precinct developments to pavilion upgrades, investments like these provide high-quality and accessible places for Victorians to reap the benefits of sport and active recreation participation.
Investments like these are all about creating jobs, stimulating local economies, and improving the health, wellbeing, and social outcomes for Victorian communities.
Gabrielle Williams MP acknowledged Greater Dandenong City Council for its more than $460,000 financial contribution and commitment to delivering the project.
