UPGRADED CLASSROOMS AND FACILITIES FOR LYNDALE SECONDARY COLLEGE

Lyndale students now have bigger, better classrooms and school facilities to learn in, thanks to the Andrews Labor Government.

Member for Dandenong, Gabrielle Williams, today announced Stage 2 of the Lyndale Secondary College rebuild was now complete. The Stage 2 works at the school include a new library, presentation spaces, media rooms and food tech facilities. Construction was recently finished and the new facilities are now ready for students returning to on-site schooling this week, following the COVID-19 shutdown.

The progress of the rebuild is welcome news for the Lyndale community who have long advocated for the capital upgrades.

The Andrews Labor Government has so far allocated a total of $16.8 million to this project.

This forms part of a $6.1 billion state-wide investment to deliver more than 1,400 school upgrades, supporting over 7,500 construction jobs for Victorians.

A total of 100 new schools will open by 2026 under the Labor Government’s school building boom, ensuring every child has a great local school and the best educational start in life.

This building boom will continue over the coming years, with the Government having already appointed builders to start delivering 11 schools across the state that will open in 2020 and 14 schools that will open in 2021.

The Labor Government is building the Education State so that every student can access a great local school and a quality education.
