{"id":8723,"date":"2015-07-09T09:49:57","date_gmt":"2015-07-09T09:49:57","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.gabriellewilliams.com.au\/dev\/dandenong-receives-road-safety-grants-boost\/"},"modified":"2024-08-07T10:13:43","modified_gmt":"2024-08-07T10:13:43","slug":"dandenong-receives-road-safety-grants-boost","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.gabriellewilliams.com.au\/dev\/dandenong-receives-road-safety-grants-boost\/","title":{"rendered":"DANDENONG RECEIVES ROAD SAFETY GRANTS BOOST"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Road safety in Dandenong has been given a boost after a local Community Group received a slice of a $1 million Transport Accident Commission grants program.<\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color: #000000;\">Gabrielle Williams MP, State Member for Dandenong, this week congratulated Rotary Club of Dandenong South East after it was successful in securing funding for a project designed to save lives and prevent serious injuries on Dandenong roads.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color: #000000;\"><span style=\"font-family: Calibri,Calibri; font-size: medium;\"><span style=\"font-family: Calibri,Calibri; font-size: medium;\">The TAC\u2019s <\/span><span style=\"font-family: Calibri,Calibri; font-size: medium;\"><span style=\"font-family: Calibri,Calibri; font-size: medium;\">Community Road Safety Grants Program <\/span><\/span><span style=\"font-family: Calibri,Calibri; font-size: medium;\"><span style=\"font-family: Calibri,Calibri; font-size: medium;\">provides grants of up to $25,000 to local councils, schools, community and not-for profit registered groups who can identify a road safety issue and come up with a proposal to fix it. <\/span><\/span><\/span><\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color: #000000;\">Rotary Club of Dandenong South East received $18,750 for the purchase and installation of three breathalyser units in licenced venues around Dandenong (Dandenong RSL Club, Hallam Football and Cricket Clubs, Dandenong Basketball Stadium), to help educate patrons about their BAC and reduce drink driving.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color: #000000;\"><span style=\"font-family: Calibri,Calibri; font-size: medium;\"><span style=\"font-family: Calibri,Calibri; font-size: medium;\">Rotary Club of Dandenong South East was among 23 Victorian community groups to receive funding for local road safety projects under the latest round of <\/span><span style=\"font-family: Calibri,Calibri; font-size: medium;\"><span style=\"font-family: Calibri,Calibri; font-size: medium;\">Community Road Safety Grants<\/span><\/span><span style=\"font-family: Calibri,Calibri; font-size: medium;\"><span style=\"font-family: Calibri,Calibri; font-size: medium;\">. <\/span><\/span><\/span><\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color: #000000;\">Gabrielle Williams encouraged all local community and not-for-profit organisations in the Dandenong region with proposals to make local roads safer to submit an application for the next round of grants before applications close on 14 August.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color: #000000;\"><span style=\"font-family: Calibri,Calibri; font-size: medium;\"><span style=\"font-family: Calibri,Calibri; font-size: medium;\">Application forms and additional information is available at www.tac.vic.gov.au, or by contacting the <\/span><span style=\"font-family: Calibri,Calibri; font-size: medium;\"><span style=\"font-family: Calibri,Calibri; font-size: medium;\">Community Road Safety Grants <\/span><\/span><\/span><span style=\"font-family: Calibri,Calibri; font-size: medium;\"><span style=\"font-family: Calibri,Calibri; font-size: medium;\"><span style=\"color: #000000;\">officer on (03) 5225 7517 or crsg@tac.vic.gov.au.<\/span> <\/span><\/span><\/span><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Road safety in Dandenong has been given a boost after a local Community Group received a slice of a $1 million Transport Accident Commission grants program.
