New traffic lights will improve safety and give locals greater accessibility at the Princes Highway and Robinson Street intersection in Dandenong.<\/p>\n
Member for Dandenong Gabrielle Williams today announced the works that will fully signalise the intersection and include a fully controlled right turn into Robinson Street from the Princes Highway, as well as signalised pedestrian crossings across Robinson Street and the Princes Highway.<\/p>\n
The intersection has a poor safety record, with 12 recorded crashes, including four serious injury crashes in the five year period ending 31 December 2015.<\/p>\n
Over 35,000 vehicles travel through the intersection daily, making it one of the busiest in the region.<\/p>\n
The Andrews Labor Government is investing $1.7 million from the Revitalising Central Dandenong initiative and the City of Greater Dandenong has funded an additional $500,000 to complete the upgrade.<\/p>\n
