{"id":8644,"date":"2017-03-14T15:53:52","date_gmt":"2017-03-14T15:53:52","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.gabriellewilliams.com.au\/dev\/breaking-down-barriers-to-employment-in-dandenong\/"},"modified":"2024-08-07T07:35:41","modified_gmt":"2024-08-07T07:35:41","slug":"breaking-down-barriers-to-employment-in-dandenong","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.gabriellewilliams.com.au\/dev\/breaking-down-barriers-to-employment-in-dandenong\/","title":{"rendered":"BREAKING DOWN BARRIERS TO EMPLOYMENT IN DANDENONG"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Young jobseekers in Dandenong and Casey are getting opportunities to join the workforce and make a difference in their local communities thanks to the Andrews Labor Government\u2019s <em>Jobs Victoria<\/em> program.<\/p>\n<p>Holmesglen Institute of TAFE, not-for-profit agency Lend A Hand and employment provider iEmpower have teamed up to provide a new service for young people facing barriers to employment.<\/p>\n<p>The <em>Roads to Work<\/em> initiative is on track to get 80 people into sustainable jobs. There are 50 people already participating in the scheme and 10 who\u2019ve been successfully placed.<\/p>\n<p>Under the program, jobseekers are assessed to identify the challenges they face in getting a job. Participants receive intensive support in a team-oriented environment with expert job coaches assisting them to boost their skills and pursue career pathways.<\/p>\n<p>The Labor Government\u2019s $53 million <em>Jobs Victoria<\/em> program is the state\u2019s biggest ever employment drive, helping more than 4000 Victorians find sustainable jobs.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Young jobseekers in Dandenong and Casey are getting opportunities to join the workforce and make a difference in their local communities thanks to the Andrews Labor Government\u2019s Jobs Victoria program.
