{"id":8599,"date":"2017-08-17T09:21:49","date_gmt":"2017-08-17T09:21:49","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.gabriellewilliams.com.au\/dev\/jobs-jobs-jobs-for-melbournes-southeast\/"},"modified":"2024-08-07T07:11:42","modified_gmt":"2024-08-07T07:11:42","slug":"jobs-jobs-jobs-for-melbournes-southeast","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.gabriellewilliams.com.au\/dev\/jobs-jobs-jobs-for-melbournes-southeast\/","title":{"rendered":"JOBS, JOBS, JOBS FOR MELBOURNE\u2019S SOUTHEAST"},"content":{"rendered":"<p class=\"Default\" style=\"margin-bottom: 10.0pt; text-align: justify;\"><span style=\"font-family: 'Arial','sans-serif'; color: windowtext;\">A jobs fair in Melbourne\u2019s southeast will connect local jobseekers with nearly 2,000 employment opportunities.<\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"Default\" style=\"margin-bottom: 10.0pt; text-align: justify;\"><span style=\"font-family: 'Arial','sans-serif'; color: windowtext;\">Officially launching the event today, Member for Dandenong Gabrielle Williams said the <i>Melbourne South-East Jobs Fair<\/i> would connect people who are looking for work with nearly 50 different employers and employment service providers.<\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"Default\" style=\"margin-bottom: 10.0pt; text-align: justify;\"><span style=\"font-family: 'Arial','sans-serif'; color: windowtext;\">The jobs fair builds on the Andrews Labor Government\u2019s $63 million Jobs Victoria initiative, supporting Victorians who need work the most, including those leaving the automotive industry.<\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"Default\" style=\"margin-bottom: 10.0pt; text-align: justify;\"><span style=\"font-family: 'Arial','sans-serif'; color: windowtext;\">South-east jobseekers will have an opportunity to talk face-to-face with exhibitors, including Victoria Police, Department of Human Services and the Level Crossing Removal Authority to learn about local jobs and training opportunities.<\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"Default\" style=\"margin-bottom: 10.0pt; text-align: justify;\"><span style=\"font-family: 'Arial','sans-serif'; color: windowtext;\">Participants will also receive information packs and be able to attend sessions on resume writing and develop strategies for finding a job that suits their skill base.<\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"Default\" style=\"margin-bottom: 10.0pt; text-align: justify;\"><span style=\"font-family: 'Arial','sans-serif'; color: windowtext;\">The Labor Government is creating jobs through major projects including level crossing removals and the manufacture of High Capacity Metro Trains.<\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"Default\" style=\"margin-bottom: 10.0pt; text-align: justify;\"><span style=\"font-family: 'Arial','sans-serif'; color: windowtext;\">The Government has also established Skills and Jobs Centres at Chisholm in Dandenong and Holmesglen Institute in Chadstone, where workers can get employment and retraining advice.<\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"Default\" style=\"margin-bottom: 10.0pt; text-align: justify;\"><span style=\"font-family: 'Arial','sans-serif'; color: windowtext;\">The <i>Melbourne South East Jobs Fair<\/i> is a partnership between the Victorian and Commonwealth governments, and Toyota Australia. <\/span><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>A jobs fair in Melbourne\u2019s southeast will connect local jobseekers with nearly 2,000 employment opportunities.
