The Andrews Labor Government has provided a significant funding boost to five advocacy and support groups to improve the lives of Victorians living with autism.<\/p>\n
The funding is part of a $22 million package announced last December in immediate response to the Inquiry into services for people with Autism Spectrum Disorder<\/em>.<\/p>\n The autism advocacy and support groups to benefit from this funding include:<\/p>\n The $22 million also includes funding for the development of a comprehensive Autism Plan<\/em> \u2013 which will improve inclusion, supports and services for people with autism right across Victoria.<\/p>\n The Labor Government continues to work closely with Victorians with autism, their families and advocates to deliver the Autism Plan<\/em>.<\/p>\n The Government is ensuring all people with a disability get the best support possible.<\/p>\n By 2019, Victoria will invest $2.5 billion per year into the National Disability Insurance Scheme (NDIS).<\/p>\n The NDIS will mean better outcomes for people with disability, who will have greater choice and control over the services and decisions affecting their lives.<\/p>\n The Victorian Government is working with the Commonwealth Government to ensure a smooth transition to the NDIS for people with autism and their families.<\/p>\n\n
