Member for Dandenong, Gabrielle Williams, today announced $3.2 million in funding for a new program to provide targeted support and stronger services for people sleeping rough in Dandenong.<\/p>\n
The Andrews Labor Government is working closely with the City of Dandenong and service providers Launch Housing and NEAMI National to deliver the program. The program will support teams of outreach workers to proactively link homeless people with service supportive housing teams to help people sleeping rough establish and maintain a home. The funding will also help establish seven new modular homes, which will provide stable housing to rough sleepers to enable them to rebuild their ties with the local community.<\/p>\n
This work is part of a $17 million rough sleepers\u2019 package by the Andrews Labor Government that will use a variety of approaches \u2013 including assertive outreach teams, supportive housing teams and the construction of new modular homes \u2013 to deliver improved support for vulnerable Victorians across the state.<\/p>\n
