People in Casey now have access to the childcare and maternal health services they need, thanks to a funding boost from the Andrews Labor Government.<\/p>\n
Member for Dandenong Gabrielle Williams today opened the newly redeveloped Chalcot Lodge Childrens Centre, which is primed to support a growing Casey community for years to come.<\/p>\n
The $750,000 project includes include a new multipurpose community room, a flexible consulting room, an upgrade of the kindergarten, a new community kitchen, outdoor play area and better community amenities.<\/p>\n
The project responds to increasing demand for Maternal Child Health. In last twelve months the number of babies born in Casey has increased by 5 per cent, from 4,959 to 5,202.<\/p>\n
The Labor Government matched Casey City Council funding for the redevelopment through $375,000 from the 2017-18 Growing Suburbs Fund.<\/p>\n
The Chalcot Lodge Children\u2019s Centre redevelopment is one of 161 projects the Victorian Government has funded to date through the Growing Suburbs Fund.<\/p>\n
The Growing Suburbs Fund has delivered more than $25 million for 16 projects in Casey, including the Casey Cycling Precinct, Sweeney Reserve Softball Pavilion Development and the Ramleigh Family and Community Centre.<\/p>\n
