NEW DANDENONG STATION LIFTS ON THE UP AND UP

The Andrews Labor Government has replaced the lifts at Dandenong Station and installed more modern and reliable ones for the passengers who need them most.

Member for Dandenong, Gabrielle Williams, today announced the lifts would re-open on Saturday, 16 September after eight weeks of upgrade works.

The upgrades will improve the speed and reliability of the lifts and reduce future breakdowns for passengers who rely on them to catch the train on time.

The lifts, located on the island platform and platform 3, were more than 20 years old, breaking down frequently and inconveniencing passengers.

Works involved replacing the old hydraulic lifts with electrically operated lifts.

The Labor Government is continuing to make train stations across the network accessible for all passengers.
