KICKING GOALS FOR LOCAL SOCCER IN DANDENONG

Frank Holohan Reserve in Endeavour Hills is set to receive a $200,000 upgrade thanks to the Andrews Labor Government.

Member for Dandenong, Gabrielle Williams, today announced that funding will be provided from the Community Support Fund 2018-19 to upgrade Frank Holohan Soccer Complex.

The additional funding, in partnership with the City of Greater Dandenong, will allow for the construction of a brand-new grandstand, with seating for approximately 200 additional spectators, and a disability access ramp.

Frank Holohan Soccer Complex is home to Dandenong City Soccer Club who were promoted to Victorian National Premier League One at the end of the 2018 season. An additional grandstand and more accessible facilities will ensure that the complex has the capacity to host the increased crowds which accompany elite levels of sporting competition.

This funding will make the complex a more attractive destination for a variety of sporting events. In 2019, Frank Holohan will be hosting the 45th Australian-Croatian Soccer Tournament – an annual national soccer tournament and the largest and oldest ethnic soccer tournament in Australia.

Across Victoria, the Andrews Government has invested more than $420 million in community sport and recreation facilities getting more people moving across the state and helping bring communities together.

Sporting clubs are the lifeblood of the community and they deserve modern, accessible and safe facilities for everyone to enjoy.
