The Victorian Government is helping 148 community organisations across Victoria to get creative and move their events online through the Multicultural Festivals and Events program. More than $800,000 will flow to community organisations to help build and develop their long-term digital capacity.

Member for Dandenong, Gabrielle Williams, today announced the Victorian Tamil Association Inc and the Victorian Afghan Student Association Incorporated as successful local recipients. The Victorian Tamil Association Inc will receive  $2,000 to take their annual 2020 Christmas Celebration on 24 December 2020, expected to attract around 250 people. The Victorian Afghan Student Association Incorporated will receive $1,500 to run an online trivia night, expected to attract around 150 people.

The Victorian Government is helping communities to celebrate culture and hold their event in a COVID-safe way for all to enjoy. Expect to see many of Victoria’s favourite events go digital in the coming months as our multicultural and multifaith communities celebrate, commemorate and connect online.
